Geocache Description:

This is on a beautiful trail near St. Mary's City. Enjoy History and Nature in ONE outing!

This cache could almost be a micro cache. It is in a small tupperware sandwich container with a white top. In this cache is an assortment of Buttons. The kind you sew on your shirt, or pin on your jacket for a sense of "Flair." Please try to keep with the theme, so that the trade items will fit. The trail is easy, and incredibly scenic. It is a loop too, and only about 2.6 miles. Bring a picnic, because there are several cozy spots to have lunch, or some wine and cheese. Oh, and speaking of another nice picnic spot. Keep track of the Summer Concert Series here at this quaint college. The concerts are free, and the environment is casual and very relaxing. Please enjoy your hike, but pay attention to "Ticket Signs." (See Picture) These are areas of Historic St. Mary's City, and they are part of a tour. Find more information on this at your STARTING point, the Visitor's Center. The trail we've placed this Cache on, is free and for the public. It is also leashed pet friendly. You'll also want to investigate the CHURCH POINT VIRTUAL CACHE nearby in a very special place. Plan an afternoon for this area, if you've never visited before. There is an abundance of history, as St. Mary's City was the first ORIGINAL Capital of Maryland in the 1600s. They have recreated the town with frame skeletons of various homesteads. It's well worth the trip South!
